What's to expect?

A memorial service for Michael Jackson may be scheduled for Tuesday at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

Tuesday's service, celebrating the life of The King of Pop, will take place at the same venue (capacity: 20,000) where Jackson rehearsed for his London concert tour just two days before he died on June 25 at age 50.

A simulcast of the memorial service will occur at the Nokia Theater across the street.

Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Magic Johnson, Smokey Robinson and John Mayer are among the superstar guests set to participate

Michael's former girlfriend, actress Brooke Shields, will appear at the event, as will R&B star Usher, legend Stevie Wonder, Motown's Berry Gordy and Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

Around 17,500 fans have been given tickets to the late King of Pop's memorial.

More than 1.6 million fans registered to try and obtain tickets to the event.

Lionel Richie, "Britain's Got Talent" finalist Shaheen Jafargholi, Martin Luther King III, Bernice A. King, the Andrae Crouch Choir, the Reverend Al Sharpton and family friend Pastor Lucious Smith are also scheduled to participate at the memorial, according to the family's statement.
